We received this report in 2013. The events described occurred in the late 1960s. Date approx. October 1966.


"When? Late 1960s walking home from Fort Erie Secondary School about 4:30 PM in the daylight with my friend. We just turned north off Wintemute Street on the Niagara Parkway and about half way down the block we saw a circular craft all white with a large black Maltese cross on the underside. It had the proportions of a flattened hamburger bun with rounded edges.  Along the rim was a single narrow row of observation windows that looked like "smoked glass". We stopped to watch it as it manoeuvred above the Niagara River just South of the International Bridge roughly on the border between the US and Canada. As it moved I heard someone say in my head what each movement will be and how graceful it will be. It moved over the land fill site that was there then and back to the border and closer to where we were on the Canadian side.  Every move was totally silent.  I would say it was about 200 feet in diameter dipping and cavorting in the air. Once it went up on a stationary bank and I saw the top side.  It too all white had a black Maltese cross over the whole top surface contrasting against the clear blue Eastern sky. I heard a voice say that they had to leave now and that I would not remember this extremely beautiful experience. We completed our walk home as normal. That night I woke with a sudden start about 3AM and I had relived the whole experience all over again."

I further correspondence the witness writes:

The thing that really really stands out was how extremely dynamic the colours were and the total experience so fearful the sighting and yet such a friendly nondescript "voice" in my head telling me the movements just before they were to happen.  If you google map the Niagara River just south of the International bridge and where Wintemute Street meets the Niagara Blvd you will see an old pumphouse right on the shore...  we were just about half way between Wintemute and the pumphouse.  The shore is about 15 to 20 feet lower than the Niagara Blvd the bank there was quite higher.

I remember turning North onto the Niagara Blvd off Wintemute Street but there is a blank, and then I remember walking past the old pump house and under the international bridge.  There was a light westerly breeze and the rustle of leaves but no one else, no birds, and no cars...  curious points to remember!


I would be extremely interested if anyone else:

1)  has had a daylight encounter like mine
2)  has described a cross on the body of the craft

I hope this brings out others that remain in the closet on this type of sighting.
