Guelph ON

July 2pm

I was driving home to Waterloo after work in Toronto late at night around 2:00 am on the 401 Westbound. I had just passed Highway 6 South when I saw what seemed to move like a meteorite at first, fall straight down from approx. 1/2 way up the horizon to about 1/4 up the horizon where it at that point changed direction within what was a fraction of a second and moved up again approx. 120 degrees from it's original trajectory to 1/3 up the horizon and disappeared.  I at first thought it was a meteorite until I saw it change direction like that, and the colour of it was green on it's way down and then blue after it changed direction until it disappeared. It moved extremely fast, the whole sighting lasted only 3 seconds.  the light didn't seem to stop at all nor make a gradual turn to move in the opposite direction, it just seem to suddenly be moving up instead of down. Why the object disappeared I can't say it just suddenly wasn't visible. Unfortunalty because it was at night it is difficult to give approximate values to how high it was at any point or the speed of it (seemed extremely fast) or or the size of it there was little to compare it to.

Our thanks to the witness for this report.
