Scarborough April 2009 10pm approx

UFO details report: Around 10pm on April, 2009 my friend and I were hanging out by a park near my house, when we witnessed a strange light phenomenon.The park is Highland Creek Park located near Morningside and Ellesmere, Scarborough, ON. The park itself is a community park and not very large, big enough for a baseball field and small parking lot, and surrounded by houses and Ellsmere Rd. We were by the parking lot having a cigarette. At the time I was faced toward the field and my friend was faced toward the road (Ellesmere Rd). We we were having a conversation when we suddenly stopped. I witnessed the entire baseball field go from pitch dark to a bright neon blue colour for about 5 seconds, and then it suddenly went back to pitch black. At the same time my friend witnessed a bright neon blue light/object fall out of the sky approximately 1km away from where we were. We both exchanged what we had witnessed and decided to get going.Another weird thing is that the park itself is a pretty busy park, we do live in Toronto after all, but during that moment we noticed that there were no other people walking by, no cars at the parking lot or driving by on the road. Very weird.We were fearful of what we saw but also very curious. Fearful because my friend had seen it fall out of the sky directly down to the earth but curious because I have never seen anything light up the darkness like that, besides the sun of course.
