UFO details report: On December 30 2015 - at approximately 2:00 AM - my dog needed to go out to relieve himself so woke me up. I went out to the backyard with him and was instantly struck by the weirdest thing I have ever seen in the sky. Directly above me was something with a curved almost horse shoe shape - with light that was brighter than the glow from the moon. It never moved. It was just there.. I ran to get binoculars and still could not make out what it was. I thought of waking my husband to tell him but had that feeling of being embarrassed because it just didn't make any sense. It was not there the next night. I had to go back in after 5 minutes due to the cold weather.
In further correspondence the witness was kind enough to make a drawing pictured above and included the following: "Yes I created a very primitive looking image that just don't do justice to the brightness of this object. I actually was looking up because I was aware of a space weather warning that there might be an Aurora around that time. This was not what I expected to see. My first thought was that it might be the International Space Station... which I have seen one other time - however, this was not moving and the ISS was not as bright as this thing was. It was the purest white light and the reddest red I have seen. Brighter than that moon which was at the end of it's full moon phase. "
