Tobermory Peninsula, Ontario, UFO Report August 10th, 1989 at 11:45 p.m.

Camping on the east shore of the peninsula with friends, sitting around a campfire at night.  Some alcohol intake but not drunk. At one point I get up to get another beer and relieve myself.  I wander 50 feet away from the group and do my business, and as I'm doing so I notice in the night sky two lights pointing at an angle down towards the ground. The lights would come on for about 20-30 seconds, then turn off for up to two minutes.  They were very closely spaced and pointing at slightly different angles. Their position remained fairly constant, not always in the exact same spot but never really going anywhere. I was sure that the lights were close enough that I would have heard an engine if it were a helicopter, but there was no sound. There were no running lights or shape outline at all, just the blackness of the overcast night sky punctuated by the 2 lights shining down at the ground for half minute durations. At first I thought it must be some sort of conventional aircraft, but the longer I studied it the more I became suspicious because it didn't fit any conventional profile. I was puzzled, but admittedly a little inebriated, so I eventually just went back to the campfire and continued partying without mentioning it to anyone.

Our thanks to the witness for sharing this with us.
