I'm a researcher and have been involved with Ufology since /83. I have had two sightings, one I managed to record on video two years ago, and the second sighting was a flash-by last summer. The recorded sighting was the typical late night white ball in the sky miles away. But the second was interesting in that it flew over my head westward (same direction I was looking)just above the local tree line. It was late at night the object was size of a quarter at arms length it was an odd luminescent grey/blue. No wake, no noise and fast. I'm not sure I would have seen it had I'd been looking up at any other direction it was that fast.
