Hwy 12 West of Orillia-Sat May 24 2008 9:15 PM

Passing low from west to east above hwy 12 between Prices Corners and Warminster just west of Orillia I sighted a bright sphere travelling slowly. I've seen this type of craft/object on three other occasions so I was delighted to have my teenagers with me.

The craft at first appeared to be a distant star and I immediately thought it odd and completely out of place as I am a regular star gazer. The sun had just set but the light (from the sun) was still visible. The sky was clear but for the odd cloud. I am very familiar with the planets and stars that appear just after sunset so I knew that this light was out of place.

The object then grew larger as it descended and I alerted my daughter who was beside me in the passenger seat of my vehicle. As I needed to keep an eye on the road I asked her to see if this craft/object had any of the regulatory flashing lights required by aircraft in our skies. She said no. As the craft/object began to level off and fly over hwy 12. It was visible only as a light sphere and there was no wings protruding so we (my daughter and I) agreed that it was not a plane.

Meanwhile my son, (aged 14) couldn't see it from his vantage in the back seat and he chided me about my seeing yet another UFO. I told him to look out of the back window as the craft/object passed overhead and out of our view in the front of the car. When he spotted it I asked him to verify that there were no other blinking lights like those required by planes and he confirmed that indeed, there were no flashing lights.

I said "good you've just seen your first UFO."

Now, because I was travelling along hwy 12 in a construction zone with numerous pylons i could not pull our vehicle to the roadside as I had wanted. So, I continued driving. There were two other vehicles travelling behind me and they were aproximately 300 metres behind us (I am ex military so I'm very good at judging distance). I'm not sure that they saw anything.

As mentioned, I have seen this type of craft/object on three other occasions and I am satisfied that what I saw was not a typical aircraft. I am a regular sky gazer both daytime and nighttime and I have witnessed many unusual celestial events so I am not too surprised anymore by anything.
