UFO details report: Grafton Ontario. 30 mins ago (11:30pm approximately, June 10 2015. My wife called me upstairs to see 3 lights over lake Ontario. I went out on our deck to avoid looking through our dining room window glass.We have an amazing view of the lake as we are high up on a hill and about 1.5 km away from the shoreline with clear line of sight. We often watch lake freighters at night. These objects were at my best estimation half way between the shore and the lake horizon. We can occasionally see lights from the u.s. side so I have a sense of distance.I tried taking a photo and video with my cell phone but it was way too small and dark to get anything useful. I did grab my 15x40 binoculars and took a look. The light looked as if it was a sphere with individual smaller lights like a crystal chandelier. With the naked eye it could pass for a flare except from the distance it was away it was way too bright and lit up the lake surface for quite a radius. Also it sat (hovered?) perfectly still and not you would expect what a flare would do. One light would fade out then reappear a minute or two later. My guess is this cycle lasted 10 mins or so, each time only a single light would be seen only to have another reappear nearby. There was no noise I could discern from any type of aircraft and no smoke/ exhaust noticeable. Only frogs from a very distant swamp near the lake (normal sounds at this time of night for us).The entire session lasted maybe 30 mins +/-.The strange part was when I tried to focus the binoculars, the best way I could describe the light it was amoeba like with slowly rotating holes on the surface. The color was a very warm yellow orange color.maybe 2700k if that means anything to you.My estimate of the altitude of the lowest light would be 800-1000ft with the second light in line with the first but 100 -200 ft higher. Same brightness for both. My wife saw 3 simultaneously but by the time I got there it was down to 2 already.
Webmaster's note: I directed the witness to this UFO sighting from directly across the lake on the US side for their thoughts and they replied: " Yes lots of similarities! My wife said she also noticed the smaller circling lights mentioned in your reference article. I would say we experienced the same phenomena as that story. If it wasn't for the extended stationary hovering I could believe it was flares but there were no boats or planes helicopters etc and no sounds to indicate it either."
