Erin Ontario August 12th 2015
UFO details report: I saw an object last night from my home in Erin, Ontario. It was hovering from a distance and did not move. Tonight my son and I were driving home on the Main Street of Erin. We saw it close up as it flew over us. It looked like a small plane but I'm guessing it was a drone. I was thinking "what is a drone doing flying around at this time of the evening - 10:30 pm. I went to backyard when we got home and saw it moving south down the 9th line of Erin. Is it a drone and what is it doing in our area?
In further correspondence the witness writes:
After writing to you, I went back outside to check out the meteor shower as promoted by the Weather Network. I then saw 5 more similar objects moving in several different directions, up and down, and some erratic movements. I think they may have been drones sent out to capture any video footage of the meteor shower but I can't be certain. That is my best guess. I later googled drones and they are popping up in various places in Ontario. So that may be the answer. Any answers would be greatly appreciated.
And in answer to questions on the duration of the sighting the witness adds:
It was more than one hour from the first sighting. Saw the first one around 10:30 pm and the others around 11 pm. They were still there around midnight. I don't have a good enough cell phone to take photos. Couldn't find any news related stories about drones in our area. But again, living in a somewhat rural area could attract drones for better video footage. I'm definitely curious.
I asked the witness to do an internet search for drones and see if any matched what was seen:
I googled drones and checked out some youtube videos. The one I saw close up looked more like this one. It was the size of a small car.
