Havelock ON 1982 (please not that an exact date was not given)

When I was about 10 yrs old, we have a family cottage near Peterborough (Between Havelock/Norwood). On 100 acres of private land (my family owns) and surrounded with 1000s of acres of farm land. There is only one private gated/locked road to get into the property. The area is surrounded by dense woods, marsh land and a river (the Ooz River). It is completely secluded and we always know when a vehicle was coming into cottage area.

My Mom, Dad, my younger brother and myself are asleep in the cottage... In the middle of the night my Mom was awoken to noises and an extremely bright light that lit up the large 1 acre clearing in the front. She woke my Dad...He looked out the window and knew that there was no way it could be a vehicles headlights since the light was too bright and lit up the entire clearing and even the treetops...

My Mom, startled by this, woke my brother and I up, we all looked out the window, at the bright light...
... And that's all any of us remember!

The strangest thing is none of us mentioned anything for years later because we weren't sure if it happened to the rest of us, or if it was just a dream. All 4 of us agreed with each other on what happened that night. All of our story are exactly the same... and none of us remember what happened after seeing the bright light and hearing a very loud humming sound.
