Picton ON July 25th 2008 Afternoon

On Friday July 25th while me and my family spent a beautiful afternoon on the beach of sandbanks provincial park (at the actual beach called sandbanks) we experienced a very unusual event. The afternoon was perfect day. Clear blue skies, 28C slight breeze. The beach was very busy. About one family in every 100sf. My wife and I sat their reading our books facing the beach which was I'd say due west when suddenly we heard a very loud booming crack sound. I looked up and saw nothing in the sky. I looked at my wife and she just smiled. I asked what she thought it was but she just said she does not know. I immediately looked at my neighbour to my right and he looked back at me with a smile. Then he told the other fellow beside him that there was not a cloud in the sky. People all over the beach were looking around. However it was so short and uneventful such that people quickly went about what they were doing. I jokingly thought to myself that perhaps it was an earthquake, a meteor or maybe even a worm hole opened up for a brief moment. Two minutes later a helicopter flew along the entire length of the beach. It had an odd marking on it's side but no lettering. It flew approx in the direction from which the noise emanated. That was that. Or so I thought. The next day I was sitting in the picton book store and right there next to me was a book entitled "haunted ontario" I asked my son if he wanted to hear some ghost stories. What did I come across? The Bermuda triangle of Ontario later referred to as the marysburgh vortex.

Our thanks to the witness for sharing this report with us. At approx the same time of day at the opposite end of the province the webmaster observed an F18 or CF18 flying over Sauble Beach. An interesting coincidence.
