Please note that the "spook-lights" commonly reported from this location were positively resolved as headlights originating at the West Quarter Line by Para-Researchers Of Ontario in July 2001, and many other groups since. The phenomena described below is unrelated to those. See Ghost Road investigation for further information.

We received the following in 2010:

"Had a lot of fun 20 years or so driving up to Ghost road (from Oshawa) saw the events described in your findings and I think you nailed it, however I visited the site quite frequently in the early nineties and one night ,actually a early Monday morning 2 AM .” I remember this as it happened yesterday”.

Here it goes…

It was a light misty rain ,don’t remember any  lightening and no wind .

I just came off working a set of night shifts and feeling bored so I asked my friend if he wanted to go for a drive so we wound up going to ghost road just to pass some time. Keep in mind we had nothing to drink or smoke or any other mind altering substances. It was a quiet night ,no one else was there, we sat  in the car on the west hand side of the road about 200 feet from the stop sign ,we were there about 30 minutes and My friend noticed what looked like a fire in the field next to us (pretty much in the centre of the field) field is about 10 acres in size,  I guess.. There was a small house and a barn on the property.  I got out of the car and noticed it was an orange fire no trace of yellow or blue (it looked fake) and it appeared to be a foot  off the ground, no apparent source of wood ,no crackling noise and no one around the fire or anywhere for that matter. I thought it was the farmer just burning brush so we kind of just ignored it . It was still “burning” about 20 minutes later so I decided to get out of the car and check it out I walked about 200 feet towards it and noticed that  the apparent fire shot out fast “spark like” flashes that moved erratically through the air and the closer I seemed to get the  “fire” it appeared to keep its distance . I returned to the car and watched it for another 10 minutes then we left . I returned a few time more after that and saw nothing like that .I also talked to the usual “road” crowd and no one had ever seen anything like that either. I’ve heard of a similar phenomena which was supposedly the spirit of a man killed on a snowmobile in Newfoundland which has been seen guiding lost people to safety.

Just wonder if you have heard about this before or have an explanation?"

Although we have received many reports of odd happenings at this location over the last ten years this is the first time we have heard of this type of phenomenon. While this is a possible optical illusion we would be interested in hearing from anyone who witnessed something as described above.
