The following photo was submitted to PRO in May 2001. It was taken last year at Pres’quile National Park in Eastern Ontario. The vacant house is located near the lighthouse, which is a tourist attraction in the area and the photo was taken on a whim as the photographer’s sibling is an enthusiast of “window prints.” The lady who kindly sent it to us was astounded by what she saw in the bottom right-hand pane of the window!
At first glance it would seem that this photo contains the spectral image of a girl looking out of the window pane. After examining this photo we at Para-Researchers Of Ontario believe that this is in fact an excellent example of *pareidolia (an optical illusion created by the reflection of foliage in the window.) However, upon showing this photo to more than one ‘sensitive’ the consenus amongst them seems to be that there may in fact be some sort of ‘presence’ captured within this photo and we do respect and appreciate their opinion. We have been unable to find any ghost or hauntings reports related to this building and would be very interested in any reader submissions to that effect, if in fact there are any. We do remain firm in our thoughts regarding this photo. Genuine anomalies within photos are quite rare and we include this photo here in order to show how easy it is for the human eye to misinterpret what it is actually seeing.
There was only one photo taken at this location and the negative was discarded before the photographer realized what she had captured. While she did not set out to capture an anomaly we do urge those whom experiment with ‘spirit photography’ to take several shots at a fixed point using a tripod and to never discard your negatives. If an anomaly should appear in your photos please do go back to the location and attempt to duplicate the exact circumstances of the shot if possible for comparison purposes. We would be happy to take a look at them for you and send them to our experts if deemed necessary.
